The Week Ahead 9nd – 15th July

POSTPONED – Commodore’s Day & The Quick Vs The Dead
Owing to the very real possibility that England might reach a FIFA World Cup Final for the first time in half-a-century, it has been decided that The Commodore’s Cruise & The Quick Vs The Dead will now be incorporated into the Cadet Regatta weekend at the end of August.  Apologies to all those who were already mumbling “bloody football” halfway through that last sentence.

New Boats
We are pleased to announce that the club has purchased 2 new training boats for the membership. The first boat is an RS Vision and the other boat is a Wayfarer.  Any member using these boats must enter their name in the logbook which is kept in the Race Officers desk and the relevant hire fee must be paid to the Hon Treasurer or any Flag Officer.

New Boat-Racks – Jetty Work Party – This Tuesday evening from:18:30

Please see below for a message from the Rear Commodore…

Hi all,

Following a Herculean effort by a small but committed team spanning Friday-Sunday of last weekend, we now have a new, higher-capacity rack for small boats and new fencing around the adjacent edge of the jetty and the slipway.  Many thanks go to Kev “2-Pencils” Riddell for all his efforts and to Mark “Axman” Allinson for being the Sunday Cutting Crew.

We now need to put back all the small boats that were on the rack, and add some of the others that are currently distributed around the jetty.  If you can spare 60 to 90 minutes on Tuesday evening from 18:30, and particularly if you have a Topper stored on the jetty, please come down to the club and help out with this part of the process.

Many thanks,
Steve Riddell
Rear Commodore
