These are the senior officers of the club, headed by the Commodore who chairs the Committee and represents the club. His/Her immediate deputy is the Vice-Commodore whose principal duty is to act as Deputy Commodore in the Commodore’s absence.

The Vice-Commodore is responsible for all matters relating to the ‘House’ (The Club-House’) eg Bar, Building maintenance, Renewals, Repairs, Entertainments committee, Local Council Authorities, (including Licensing), Tenants and neighbours. These duties are usually carried out by set committees or persons appointed for these purposes eg. Bar- Chairman, House Committee.

The Rear Commodore is responsible for all matters concerning the Jetty and Sailing and acts as alternative Deputy Commodore in the Commodore’s absence. The Sailing Secretary, Bosun and Race-Officer act under the Rear-Commodore’s direction. The three positions above ultimately head up the committee which deal with the day to day running of the club.

The Commodore flies a Broad Pennant (i.e rectangular flag) at the Club-House or the Jetty flagpole when present.

The ‘Flags’ headed by the Commodore, ensure the proper administration of the Club through periodic Committee meetings attended by all elected officers and general Committee members, formed from general members of the Club.
