Island YC Camping Trip
Saturday 2nd July sees the second of our now legendary annual sailing and camping trips to Canvey Island YC. Muster at TEYC at 12:00 midday. IYC will be providing a fixed price BBQ on the Saturday evening and the bar is open all day until 11:00pm. The galley will be open on Sunday morning for breakfast.
If you do not wish to sail, but still wish to come, you can go “rubber over tarmac” and be there to meet the incoming sailors, as we will need a few volunteers to take camping equipment etc over in cars.

Thurrock Wayfarer Race – 16th July
Thurrock Yacht Club have a fleet of Wayfarers and have invited us to field some teams to race against them for a new Trophy using their boats. Please let Neil Woodbridge know (email address in this week’s email) if you’re interested in taking part as a Helm or Crew.

The RNLI are holding their annual dinner on Saturday 8^th October at the Boatyard Restaurant in Old Leigh
The evening will include dinner from a choice of menus, raffle, auction and a Q&A session with RNLI crew. Cost of the event is £45.00 per head.
TEYC has a strong association with the RNLI with a number of current and past members being on the crew or in support so it would be good if we could field a table or two at this fundraising event.

SUNDAY: 09:00: Commodore’s Day
Sunday (26th) is Commodore’s day. Adults and Cadets are invited to come down for a day of on the water fun and afternoon refreshments. The plans include RIB rides, donut rides, try a different boat, Canoe and SUP racing, jumping off the jetty and swimming. Please bring along any water sports equipment you may have, such as paddle boards, canoes or windsurfers and your wet kit. Water pistols allowed.
Start time is 09.30 with high tide at 11.45
From 14.30 there will be refreshments available; sandwiches, salads, nibbles and cakes and of course the bar will be open from 12.00.
To help with catering please let Kim Denny or Sharon Riddell know (email addresses in this week’s email) if you are planning to attend. In addition if you would like to bake a cake for the event please email Kim.
