Boats on the jetty
So the summer has set in ‘good and proper’ and with the increase in wind it would be a very good idea for you to check your dinghy for security on the jetty – covers, halyards and tying down, etc. With the cancellation of races perhaps this is an ideal time?
There are many loose covers and some dinghies rather precariously balancing on trailers. Others where the covers have largely disintegrated.
It is the responsibility of the owner to carry out this work.
Outside WC key
On Sunday morning the key for the outside WC was missing from inside the club.
On Wednesday evening I found it hanging on the bow of the EOD near the tap.
Could everybody using the jetty please consider the security of the facility very carefully given that this lapse may have resulted in a somebody (probably uninvited) deciding to reside in part of our facility.
Jetty
Please be careful when moving around the jetty and ensure suitable footwear is worn at all times.
Many will be aware that the support structure to the west of the top of the slipway has partially given way and thus extra care is required.
Repairs to this area will take place shortly.
