Cadet day changing from 14th March to Sat 21st

Hi all,

The cadet night on Saturday 14th March is being postponed to the following Saturday (21st March), due to lack of volunteers being around to run this event.

The planned cadet activity on Saturday 21st is going to run from 3:30pm with all cadets looking to sail during the year greatly encouraged to come down and take part in this event. We will be going through boat setup and post winter checks before the start of the sailing year; there will be activities for both the younger less experienced cadets as well as the older more keen racers so we encourage everyone to come down get involved also it would be lovely to see some faces that we haven’t seen since before Christmas.

It would be great for the parents to get involved in this afternoon as we need all the help we can get for the year once the cadets are back on the water and this is a perfect opportunity to learn how to help with catching and launching the boats as we cannot teach effectively if we need to be on the slipway – the best way to teach is being on the water with the cadets. The cadet activities can only run effectively if we have your help and support.

After we have finished the teaching the clubhouse will remain open as in the evening we have the ever popular scalextric night; itf people wish to stay down the jetty and order a takeaway everyone is more than welcome to bring their own food in and make a whole afternoon/evening of it. The 6 Nations rugby match England Vs France kicks off at 5pm and all being well we hope to have it being shown on the big screen for everyone to watch.

Hope to see as many of you down as possible!
