Message from the Commodore

Next Saturday the 18th April we are holding the official opening night with the help of DJ Paul Gee! Entrance is just £5.00 which will help pay for the evenings entertainment. Tickets are available from the bar, or by calling, texting or emailing me. Please come along, bring your friends and support your club for what should be a great social event to start the first full year of events from the new clubhouse.

This will be the first full year of activities from the new building and we can only make the most of it with help and support from the members. So much hard work is constantly being done by just a few people to keep everything going. The chance to come down, watch your children sailing and often receiving instruction, whilst having a drink, knowing they have the security of being watched by a safety boat and shore crew, in constant contact by VHF radio. This is a great facility for members and takes a lot of time and effort and the social events often help pay for these benefits.

Now is also a good time to give you a quick up date:

  • This year the club hopes to be in a position to purchase a new safety boat to help provide cover for those extra sailing events and sailors.
  • This will also enable us to provide power boat lessons for cadets, offer more RYA power boat courses and safety boat courses to train new crews.
  • We now have this new club website with club activities/ programme and other information such as tide times and weather! So, please take a look and keep up to date with future events.

Finally please remember this is all done voluntary, a help in hand is always welcome no matter what! The biggest thank you is participation !  An active club house and as many boats afloat as possible is our aim !

I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you all on the 18th.
