First Race 10:00
This will take part at Southchurch Park Boating Lake and consist of a mixed relay of 6 yachts, 3 yachts per team drawn by lots (maximum of 18 in each team).
Each race will consist of 2 or 3 laps of the course depending upon the wind. After completing one lap, the yacht helm is passed to another team member. The expectation is to run 3 – 4 races. If 4 races are held a team can discard their worse result. The whole competition is expected to be around 2 to 2.5 hours.
This should be great fun, especially for adults and older cadets. To get an idea of numbers, if you’re interested in taking part please let Cheryl Wright know, contact details on theweekahead email.
